I’ve been ripped off by a company who assured me, after taking a phone app that they could make me a real estate loan. They wanted $600 to begin the processing and this would be refunded if I didn’t qualify for the loan. After a month and several changes in the loan terms (in their favor) we reached a dead end. They wanted documents which were impossible to acquire to prove my ability to pay…i.e., bring us a letter from heaven which states you won’t die in the next five years– OK an exaggeration but not too far off. I did try to acquire the customized docs from govt agencies but was told that they don’t supply what I was asking for. So I explain this to the loan company but…they refuse to underwrite a loan for me or to refund my deposit. They want me to sign up for new (worse) terms. I refuse to sign anything else and they keep my deposit by claiming they didn’t turn me down for a loan, rather I refused to provide the required info. What do you think a judge would say?
