What happens when the defense attorney in a personal injury case leaves the firm?
My attorney was informed at the deposition of my doctor that the defense attorney has left the firm and now another attorney has taken over the case. Does this make the time of getting this case resolved longer. They had made an offer before my doctor gave his depositon but I turned it down. So now that this other attorney prescription drugs online without a prescription has taken over the case I am just wondering how this effects my case? My attorney tells me that she has not worked with this attorney in the past and is not familiar with her.
Anyone been through a personal injury case where this has happen? What was your outcome…

Only the judge can extend the court date when the new counsel is assigned to a case, and your attorney would be aware of that if/when it happens.
My experience with personal injury cases is that they take ages. The minimum time to settlement should not be less than 12 months.
Good Luck!

Although only the judge can extend the dates in a court case, I think most judges will take into consideration the fact that the new lawyer might need some time to get up to speed and familiarize themselves with the case.
