I was just informed that if I can get a good attorney, my boyfriends expaditing problems and his warrant could buy generic drugs be erased. (or forgotten…no jail time) Is this true?

If so, how could I find a good attorney? Does that mean the public deffender wont help or be any good? If I get an attorney, do you have to pay any money up front, or can you make payments?
What kind of attorney would you need? As you can probably tell, I’m very new to all this.

You need to put up a retainer (prob. 3-4 thousand) then make any extra cost in payments…what are you talking about anyway?
A probation violation is for an administrative rule, not necessarily for a criminal law. Therefore, you will not be eligible for a public defender.
If the violation is for a criminal act, he may get a public defender for the crime that violated his probation, but not for the violation itself.
Without knowing the specifics of the case, it is impossible to have an opinion of if a private attorney can be much help. Most attorneys do not charge for the initial consultation. Your best bet would be to talk to one.
Please dont hire the public defender-i did and that was the worst mistake in my life the only reason i did cause i didnt have the money to pay for an attorney-call your county bar assocation they can refer you to an attorney sometime at a flat rate or call legal services sometimes they can help you at no cost depending on your income.
